Every summer, the Lucerne Festival (Luzerner Fest) offers numerous concerts, parties, fairground amusements and food stalls. The festival takes place around the lake and in the old town. The Lucerne Carnival (Fasnacht) is the biggest event in Central Switzerland, taking place annually in February or March. Fasnacht is a traditional Swiss folk festival, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year in Lucerne. Carnival musicians (Guggenmusige), parades and masked balls dominate the festival. We’re happy to supply more detailed information.
Every October, the SwissCityMarathon runs through the beautiful old town of Lucerne, along the lakeside to the Swiss Museum of Transport. Numerous music groups and stalls provide entertainment along the marathon route. You can get information about the marathon from reception. The city of Lucerne is 15 minutes from the motel by car.
At the weekends, the FC Luzern offers high-calibre football in the Swissporarena. Every season, the club competes in the Super League, the highest Swiss league, for places in the European Champions League. Information on matches and tickets can be found on the official website of the FC Luzern. The stadium is easy to reach in just a few minutes from the Motel Brüggli.
Every year, the Lucerne Festival in the Culture and Convention Centre (KKL) delights thousands of fans of classical music. Famous orchestras, legendary conductors and virtuoso soloists offer a varied programme from Mozart to modernism. From our motel it only takes a few minutes to get to the Lucerne Festival.
Every July, the world-famous Blue Balls Festival takes place in Lucerne. Besides concerts in the Lucerne Culture and Convention Centre (KKL) and free concerts in the Pavilion, the Blue Balls Festival offers a wide range of food and drink stalls on the Seepromenade, the lakeside promenade. From the Motel Brüggli you can get to the festival in 15 minutes by car or 20 minutes by train.
